I have a fanfic entry. It's a crossover fic I wrote over Spring Break (and have recently started the sequel to). Yes, it has a gore tag, but it's a Pokemon crossover, so it's not really gore, just SFW fighting.

I suppose I might as well enter this... it's an essay I did several months ago for a college course and I was heavily inspired by my involvement with EqF. I was planning on doing a revised or new edition for this contest but never got around to it.

If I remember/understand correctly, @Twilight Sparkle made the post on another site that I had quoted for this essay. Thanks for that, by the way. I had gotten 70/80 points.

I'll post my conclusion, it summarizes some of my feelings for EqF.

Community is a powerful thing, feeling a sense of belonging can make all the difference between a positive and negative outlook on life, which in turn influences how one lives it. Finding a community to belong to is a difficult task, but when taken on, the difference it makes can impact the life of not only one looking for it, but also have an influence on those who already existed. What makes a community strongest is the connections that build between the various people in it, as such a community that nurtures such interactions will be the strongest.

I had been specifically thinking of EqF when I said that a community that nurtures the interactions between people within it would be strong.

I do apologize for some lack of clarity... I do recall that I used wordpad for this essay... I fixed some spelling errors, before sharing it here, but there may have been other things I missed - having rushed to write it all last-minute (I was adding some finishing touches in class the day it was due). Ah well, it's what I get for not doing a revised one as I had planned.

I am now a Brony for almost 3 years. I've always been a closet Brony, and I still am. Nobody in my family knows. I saw this fandom evolved and changed over all these years and I have been impressed for the major part of the time. Of forum to forum, discussion group to discussion group, I am now installed on EquestriaForever for almost 6 months.

I compose music as a hobby for the past 7-8 years. I have started to share it only less than a year ago and I make ''pony music'' for the last 4 months only. I know that I have a particular style that will probably never grab a broad audience but if only 1 person can feel good about what I do, I'll be happy. This song is intended to illustrate the various feelings and emotions that I live in this fandom and, I hope, yours too.

I hope to see this fandom grow again and again and I hope with all my heart that it will never die. I love you all.
