Name: Golden Lotus

Approximate age: 58

Picture and/or Description: Slightly shorter than your average stallion with a sturdy build. He's not terribly strong or intimidating, but he's not a pushover, even in his age. His coat is a reddish-brown, and his mane is short, golden on top, brown on the bottom, much like a lotus flower. His eyes are also a golden color. His face shows clear signs of his age, and his expression is often soft and smiling.


Background: His whole life, Golden Lotus has only loved one thing: delicious tea. As a young colt he learned the art of tea making from a local restaurant, and has dedicated himself to perfecting that art. He grew up in a small village south of Fillydelphia with a kind family. After a few years making the same tea, he wanted something more. He felt there had to be some herbs and secrets his was missing, so he set out to find other tea-makers throughout Equestria. While his tea-making skills are exceptional and he learned a lot, he found the greatest joy in life was all the friends he made and the lessons he learned from them to better all aspects of his life. He has come to Ponyville to retire in what he thinks is a small, quiet town of friendly ponies, and continue his practice of tea and sharing stories with friends.

Personality: Always kind and gentle, and very compassionate. He believes all problems can be solved peacefully, with time and care, just like a preparing a good tea. He very seldom shows a temper, but will if pushed hard enough, or if he feels it's the best way to make his point clear. He is very open and happy to meet new ponies with a smile and a warm cup of fresh tea.

Cutie Mark: A black, cast-iron teapot. He earned this after being hired on as apprentice tea-maker in the restaurant for his quick learning and ability to tell if tea leaves are ready by smell alone.
