Picture and/or Description: Thunderlane is an attractive black pegasus stallion with dark yellow eyes and a mohawked, ice blue mane with white highlights. His body language is often incredibly indicative of his state of mind, a physical attribute which is used to great effect by those around him.

Background: Thunderlane was born and raised in Ponyville to a pair of jewelers along with a younger brother, Rumble. Due to the occupations of his caretakers, his family was always very well off, and there was little incentive for his parents to make him do any substantial amount of work, which caused him to become quite lazy in comparison to his peers. So therefore whenever the need for work ever made itself present, such as before a test or during a town wide initiative such as Winter Wrap Up, you could always count on Thunderlane to do everything in his power to minimize his workload, if not eliminate it entirely.
Due to his lack of a work ethic, Thunderlane made it through the Ponyville school system with the bare minimum required grades, and didn't bother to go out and look for a job after graduation, instead opting to continue living at his parents house, eating his parents food, with his future being a non-factor in his mind. To him, keeping tabs on every mare who he had a chance with was much more important than securing a job and maintaining a steady income. However, the day eventually came where his mother told him to “Either do something with your life, or you're not living under this roof anymore!” Externally forcing Thunderlane to seek higher education and/or work, two things whose existence he had only vaguely acknowledged up until that point.
Pondering his experiences, Thunderlane realized that there were two things which he was exceptionally good at. Getting out of work, and flying. He figured that flight school would be sufficient to get his mother off of his back. (The fact that the classes were unisex and would be filled with super fit athletic chicks didn't hurt either.) So at the age of 18, Thunderlane applied for, and was accepted into the Wonderbolts Academy. Through hard work, sweat, and determination, Thunderlane eventually made it through basic training, managing to surpass nearly all of his classmates by the time the final week rolled around. It was the first time he had ever passed with anything above the bare minimum in his life. During his graduation ceremony, Thunderlane reflected upon all that he had accomplished, and he had an epitome. He realized that the only thing that had ever prevented him from achieving anything in life was his own self motivation, and when that was on his side, he was unstoppable.
Currently, Thunderlane resides back in his parents home in Ponyville. He has managed to use his connections with a certain cyan pegasus mare (I.E, VERY heavy namedropping in the interview.) to land a job on the Ponyville weather patrol, where he works full time. He's going through the motions of life as usual, along with just everyone else in the quaint town.
Personality: As described previously, Thunderlane is lazy by nature, but as a result of his recent experiences he is doing what he can to break himself free of this mentality. He enjoys flight, as he is quite good at it, but he needs to be in an active state of mine before he'll bother to expend his energy upon it. He's rather friendly and outgoing, and will gladly say hello to and hold a conversation with just about anypony in town, provided that they treat him with respect.
Cutie Mark: Thunderlane's Cutie Mark is a bolt of lightning being shot down from a dark grey storm cloud, and he gained it when he was a little bit older than his brother Rumble is now. More specifically, he and a few other colts from his class decided that it would be a good idea to mess around with some storm clouds. They had recently learned in school about how lightning worked, and decided that it was interesting enough to test out first hand. Thunderlane, the pegasai with the most developed flight skills of the group, was chosen to be in control of the storm clouds, while his buddies called out things for him to zap. The degree of control and skill which he found himself immediately able to channel into the cloud and it's abilities, like a natural bond only then finding it's connection, caused him to immediately and euphorically lose himself in his role. Even when his friends began to groan out of boredom from messing around with the clouds for so long, Thunderlane kept going, taking no heed of their complaints as he honed his new found skill. He didn't even notice when his parents, along with several ponies from the weather patrol, screamed at him at the top of their lungs to get down until one of the weather ponies tapped him on the shoulder. His parents grounded him for a month that night. (Which was a very big deal for them, considering their usual Laissez-Faire parenting style.) But when he woke up the next morning there it was on his flank, the dark grey storm cloud, just like the one he used the previous night. It was this incident which largely dictated Thunderlane's choice of employment after he came back from the Wonderbolt's Academy.
