      The Good Book

So, I'm reading the bible. King James Version.

Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on? This book is confusing me. I think I left off around Genesis 25.
      I'm Syrix, ya know me?

If you're not enjoying it, how is it a "good" book?

I thought that was a nickname for it. I'm an atheist sooo...

Dammit, is there a list of emoticons on mobile? I'm missing out on wonderful opportunities.

You are correct, The Bible is also referred to as The Good Book. Woona was simply making a play on words.
And I don't believe there is an emote list on the app. PC EqF is far superior to app EqF.

      Alright.

So are you going to translate this for me?

Translate the Bible? No, I've never read it myself.
I tried to read it once out of boredom. I got confused just reading the Table of Contents.
At least I think that was a table of contents.

If I remember correctly, there were some parts of the bible where it just listed name after name after name after name, saying who carried on the heritage of... something. Most dull.

Firstly Suryix what is your intended or desired goal, are you trying to understand the christian message/doctrines or do you wish to understand the bible because of its literary relevance?

If it is the former then I would suggest reading one of the new and if possible footnoted editions of the bible like the New International Version as well as the compendium of the catechism of the catholic church (Catholic I know, but its question and answer format makes it a quick and easy starting point to understanding christian reasoning). Or you could skip the book itself entirely and read books on the subject itself.

If it is the latter then I would suggest looking up some of the reading plans as the bible is ultimately a collection of books rather than one and some books a much better and necessary than others. Better to become acquainted with a just a few of them rather than burn yourself trying to grind through all those obsolete and flowery phrases.

I think there is a movie called The Bible, or it think it's a tv series, you could watch that, it may help to explain it

I'm more interested in it as a story rather than something to live by.

I'll watch the television series if I get the chance.
