That isn't your fault. The vast majority of members on this site are under the false impression that being "random" is actually funny. They also have a hard time maintaining focus on one particular subject, which results in the rapid generation of short conversations.

I'll be honest, I don't really talk to you because I feel like the few conversations we've had were pointless and quite awkward. Some people may feel the same and are just trying to make small talk because they can't really think of anything else to say. It's like when you're posting in this thread and you just mention some little snippet of information that really doesn't make sense to another person so they really don't want to talk about it and just try to go onto something else.

I agree that this may be the issue, I know that you are young and sometimes your style of communication irritates me a tad so personally I avoid it. taking this thread as an example it is very hard to see at a glance exactly what you are talking about, if you want to have constructive conversations with people then you should provide conversation to have, for example if someone were to send me a VM or PM that just said "Hello" I would likely avoid it as this is a text medium and responces take time it is better to make more letter like messages, if we're talking about PM's something like "Hey man how've you been, we haven't talked in a while and I've missed you, on another note did you see this crazy thing in the news the other day *link*"

Obviously if we're talking about the shoutbox that is a very different medium as new people can be comming in constantly and aren't up to date on whatever the topic of conversation is it changes constantly, I wouldn't attempt serious conversations in the shoutbox except when it's extremely dead.

It's also important to remember that someone might not want to talk to you at this moment, they may be watching a video and idly browsing the forum at the same time in which case the chances of them wanting to engage in a full on conversation regarding the government shutdown in America is pretty low.

of course while this may not apply to all people on the forum it certainly applies to many, we have many cultures here and for a lot of people English isn't their first language so slightly unclear statements can be even more baffling for them


TLDR; remember that people have lives outside of the forum, may be multitasking and make sure that you send concise messages with a point

^ ^ ^ (meaning all the replies) see, this is the kinda things that make me feel alienated, in fact, i feel soooo alienated, i dont think i should be on the site any longer. im not like one of those user who are like "OMG!!! did you here about this one new cool thing!?!" all i want is a regular decent conversation, and if i cant get that, then i dont feel the need to be on this forum.
