Background: It was one of the happiest days of her parents' lives when little filly Applejack came into the world. Even Big Macintosh, who was a little annoyed that he wasn't the only child anymore, couldn't help to show a little joy to the new addition in the Apple family. With Granny Smith to spoil her rotten as she grew up, AJ couldn't ask for a better childhood.

Over the years, everyone in the Apple Family did their part to shape Applejack into the pony that she is today. Big Mac helped her develop her signature bucking style. Granny Smith taught her how to bake. Her father, Apple Zap, showed her how to properly handle a rope and wrangle the livestock, while her grandfather, Johnny Appleseed, taught her the value of hard work. As for her trademark honesty, well, that was just handed down to Applejack from her mother, Gracie!

Still, there comes a point in ever filly's young life when they need to discover a little about themselves. For AJ, that was when she tried to go live off in Manehattan with her Aunt and Uncle. The first few days were everything she could have wanted and more. Things were more exciting, the other ponies were more sophisticated, and the conversations 'had all of da fancy shmancy talk yea would expect from dem city ponies!' By the end of the week, AJ's excitement began to tapper off. Though she was grateful for how welcoming her Aunt and Uncle Orange had been, their mannerisms were starting to wane on her. They just weren't as warm and friendly as her family back at home, and their friends certainly were not much better.

On what would become her last night in Manhattan, AJ stayed up thinking about the family she had left behind for the bustling city of concrete that sat outside of her window. She found herself missing the rustle of the orchard trees, the soft clucking of the chickens in their coop and Granny's snoring down the hall. More than anything though, she longed to be with her family back at Sweet Apple Acres. As the sun rose, Applejack let out a weak 'cock-a-doodle-doo' to at least grab a brief taste of life back on the farm.

Suddenly, before even a second had passed, a brilliant rainbow came dashing out of the sky pointing straight back to Ponyville. Realizing the message for what it was, the young filly didn't waste a moment making her way back back into the loving arms of her family at Sweet Apple Acres. For it was clear to her that she belonged there all along. It didn't take the flash of her cutie mark for Applejack to see that she belonged to be there on the farm to care for her loving family.

From then forth, AJ did everything she could to help out on the farm using what she had learned from her family and travels. She soon was bucking apples as fast as Big Mac, selling apples and pastries faster than Granny, and was only matched be her father in herding their livestock. By the time her parents left with her grandfather to help start up a farm in Phillydelphia, there was no better candidate than good ol' Applejack to keep an eye on Sweet Apples Acres.

With Winona, a gift from her mother, at her side and AJ's trademark cowboy hat, a gift from her father, firmly on her head. Applejack has had little trouble keeping the farm up and running while her parents have been away with the help of Granny, Big Mad and her little sister, Apple Bloom (Born a few years prior to Zap's and Grace's deptarture, the little pony was left in the care of her siblings so she could get an education in her hometown of Ponyville). In fact, the farm ran better then ever a year after her parents left and beyond.

It wasn't until Twilight's arrival in Ponyville that Applejack's life took another unexpected turn. No, it wasn't the re-appearence of Nightmare Moon to Ponyville. Nor was the discovery she was the spirit of Honesty. Rather it was the coming together of the best group of friends any pony could ask for, and the beginning of their many adventures thereafter. Even though that friendship has pitted her against everything from simple races in the fall to overcoming chaotic draconequus in world through the looking glass, Applejack wouldn't give up her friends for anything in the world

Personality: Honest, proud and a bit headstrong are one of the many qualities that make up Sweet Apple Acre's Applejack. She is the kind of pony would rather roll in the dirt than get 'fancied' up for some ball or party. She's also the kind of pony who will do anything in her power to prove herself if given the chance (even if it meant pushing herself past her limits). Nevertheless, be it rain or shine, Applejack will always do what she can for her friends and family.

Cutie Mark: Her cutie mark are three apples, which show her passion to be there for the Apple Family and Sweet Apple Acres.
