Lunar Days in Ponyville

Whirl continued to fly upward as it became harder and harder to breath. He stretched his limit and beyond as he came to a stop and laid down on the cloud panting. "Okay... get on the cloud and I will explain the rules..." he says as he continues to pant.

Pyro came up onto the cloud panting and said "Well... That was hard enough to get up here. What... what do we have... to do now?" he continued to pant.

[Whirl Wind]

Whirl stands up and points over the edge of the cloud. "Okay, that tree down there is the half way marker and this cloud is the finish line. The goal is to fly down, grab a branch and come back up here. Now before we start I have to be fair and tell you that I skydive like this all the time. In fact it is my special talent." he says as he gestures to his cutie mark. "So you are at a huge disadvantage. But overall this is just for fun, okay?"

Dark Pasts moved slowly around in the sky. Things were screaming in her head, "Why did you come out here," and "You'll never fit in!". But she would still dare to go out and enjoy the day, even if she embarrassed herself. She noticed communication going back and forth up ahead, and she saw two stallions doing something involving flying.

Her eyes glimmered hopeful, and she flew over, smiled awkwardly, and said in Russian accent:

"Hello, I'm new around here... how are you doing? I'm Dark Pasts."

Whirl smiles at the new mare. "Hey there. We were just about to race to that tree down there and back up. Want to join us?" he asks with a smile.

"Sure!" Dark Pasts grinned graciously, happy to see someone actually listening to her for once.

Things were looking up for once.

Whirl pats the cloud for her to join them. "Come have a seat and prepare then. The tree directly below us is the goal. Then you have to tear off a branch and fly back up here. First one to do that wins. I have to warn you like I warned him. My special talent is skydiving and I will probably end up winning this because of how often I practice this kind of thing." he says with a chuckle.

I outstretched my wings and popped my shoulders in place. I replied in a challenging tone, "I've been ready."
