Background: As a foal, Simplicity lived as part of Canterlot high society, born to a stock broker father and an aspiring pony-tician for a mother. Life in their home was hectic; appearances were everything, and it was always, always important to be on time and be presentable. Simplicity was often dolled up by her mother and carted around from speech to speech as part of her image as an aspiring pony-tician. However, Simplicity was an easily distracted foal who had trouble sitting up straight, frequently stared into space, got dirt in her hooves (Celestia knows how), and who didn't readily fawn over the displays of others. This often came across as rude, ungrateful, detached, and careless in their societal circles, and Simplicity's mother grew frustrated with her inability to become the filly she had dreamed of having. We're not really sure if Simplicity was hurt by this; she seems surprisingly resilient to adversity. However vacant Simp's mind seemed to be to her parents, she was definitely thinking about who she was and what she wanted with her life. As a pony who spoke little if actions would do, Simplicity packed her bags and left home one night without notice, leaving a starfish-shaped mane-clip behind on the dining room table for her parents to find. She walked with the southern wind for days, sleeping, eating, and singing whenever she felt like. Finally, she was led to a golden shoreline, and looking upon it, smiled, basking in the sun. Her cutie mark appeared, and she knew she had found home at long last.
Ever since, Simplicity has lived in a small house near the beach, where time seems to pass more slowly, and sleep comes easier to the weary. The ocean waters do a great job of washing all worries and troubles away, and the sand warms not only the hooves, but the heart. She loves to spend time on the beach, sunbathing and wading during the day while attending mellow beach bars and having a couple of drinks with tourists and natives alike at night. Simplicity runs a beach crafts store nearby the shoreline, where she sells all kinds of neat knick-knacks made from seashells, feathers, seaweed, and polished pebbles...when she's actually there to run the store! Her creations are classic, from sea-shell inspired dream-catchers to decorative hermit crab shells for your very own hermit crab to grow into. Ponies seem to really like her creations...even though it does take her some time to restock. She'll get around to it. Eventually.
Simplicity will appear from time to time in Ponyville to sell her crafts under the persuasion and nagging suggestions of her friends from the beach, as well as to pick up new types of fruits and vegetables to use in her smoothies. Believe it or not, apples are quite an 'exotic' and rare fruit for beach go-ers.
Personality: Simplicity is just as her name implies -a pony that lives simply, with simple, earthy (or rather, beach-ly) tastes. Very little seems to faze her; Simplicity goes with the flow and doesn't let her troubles get the best of her. In fact, some might say she isn't fazed by anything at all...for better or for worse! No one has ever seen her panic, let alone worry, fret, or show any signs of anxiety, even if she says she is concerned for somepony. She is tranquil and content, and her calm demeanor can be infectious, especially if you meet her in her own territory - the sandy shores. She isn't necessarily lazy; the term is 'relaxed'. Of course, if you're looking to get something done or make an appointment...be prepared for due date extensions and late meetings! Simp runs by her own clock, based on "the smooth tides", and has very little sense of urgency. Someponies have accused her of not taking things seriously enough or of being too spacey, and while that might be true to some extent, Simplicity does enjoy making ponies happy and relaxed, as well as taking time to do the small things and enjoy the stuff of every day life with a friend or a stranger. The plus side to being easygoing is that you're easier to get along with: Simp makes few demands, has few preferences, and can take most of what more neurotic ponies can deal out without breaking down or letting it bother her. If you want to visit, just drop in, even if unannounced! Chances are that Simp won't mind; she'll just welcome you in and ask if you'd like a mango smoothie. Although...don't get your hopes up on getting that smoothie in less than half an hour.
Cutie Mark: Simplicity's Cutie Mark is a brownish orange starfish with five yellow dots of sand in-between the points. I will attempt to have a better picture up soon.

EDIT 2: It has been discovered that, while Simplicity can utilize magic like the average unicorn, such as for picking up and moving small objects, she seems to have the ability to manipulate a small amount of liquid with precision, roughly two liters to a gallon's worth. In addition to this, there has been an instance where her horn glowed profusely before a large wave, perhaps over ten feet, crashed onto the shore. As of now, it is unknown whether or not these two instances are caused by one or the other, but it is suspected that she may have the power to sense large disturbances of the sea.
