Why I Requested a Ban...

Spoiler: This relates to some really stupid drama stuff that happened months ago, I really don't know why it's bothering me, but I don't see many options for dealing with it short of going to each and every one of my friends and bothering them directly. For those of you I have told this already I'm sorry for dragging you into my meaningless problem...

I have been known by a number of names, and there are a number of names in this thread that all relate to me. First off, I am currently Woona. I usually go by Xalder, but have once gone by Gadzooks when I felt the need for a change of pace. During the time I was trying to get the name Luna, I had gone by Fancypants, wanting any canon name in the meantime. The short time that I was Luna, Princess Luna was Eris. Princess Luna has formerly gone by Ocelot. Princess Luna has never (on this site at least) gone by Luna, but has quite naturally been called such by people.

Okay, seeing as this is still pissing me off, particularly since he's decided to start making a bunch of posts today, I find that I don't care how stupid it is... Why it bothers me, I have no idea, probably just the fact that I hate when people promise something then turn back on it when I hold up my end. As if that ever even happens, clearly I had made an error trusting this person. For those of you who don't know/don't remember why I would hate Princess Luna, here's why.

The reason I requested a short ban was because I found myself constantly looking at Princess Luna's profile, checking latest posts, watching for when he'd finally say something stupid that I could report. I was detracting from my own enjoyment of the site and I figured a short break would give me the space I needed to be able to calm myself down. After all this time I continue to find myself strangely annoyed.

Unfortunately, as I came back from my ban a little early I happened across a post of his, specifically this one.

Yeah, death is a pretty shitty punishment.

I looked up at the post that bumped the thread and saw that it was a well thought-out post, not to mention the fact that most of the posts after it were also well thought-out contributions to the thread.

Of course just today I see him posting all over the place, saying things like

It's always nice to see another friendly face around here- and no need to be shy! ... If you ever need any help with the forum I'm happy to be here for you, ... I'll [help] you as fast as I can!

This all from someone who says:

Honestly, the main reason I'm still upset is that I've admitted and apologized for my error when trying to get the name Luna, but he never apologized for stringing me along and betraying my trust. Clearly it was very ill-placed.

The worst part of all that is how he turns it all around on me for my mistake in the issue.

Yeah, usually I wouldn't give up the name, but because Xalder is- was my friend I was a little generous, I did change my mind in the end. But I've learnt my lesson from this experience.

TRUST NO ONE.

I actually recommend possibly making the activity requirements of keeping a name a bit more dependent. It's not fair for someone who has a canon name to have it taken away if they go inactive for a month due to some issue or another. Conversely, it's not fair for people who want the name for someone like Ocelot to make a post once every few weeks just to have that bit of activity required to hold onto it. If he's fully capable of visiting the site more often, but just doesn't care to, I don't think it should matter how much he cares about the name. It's a matter of fairness to the site as a whole.

Not that I care for the name myself, anymore. I've grown fond of Woona, and simply would be much happier seeing someone with the name who actually likes the community, and cares to be part of it.

Oh, but did you see some of his posts today? They were friendly and welcoming, maybe he's changed? Seeing him in the shoutbox today suggests otherwise.

Understandable. We have a history that leads to mutual distaste, however, I don't appreciate it when you insult one of my friends.



There's teasing and joking around, then there's flat out insulting someone. I'm glad Slowking was able to take it in stride. @Slowking, you're awesome, and I hope you know that you shouldn't have to put up with someone like that insulting you.

It's just a name, I can't see how such a silly thing can be the cause of so much drama.
From what I can see you're just bothered by Luna's general attitude and I can't blame you, some of the things that he said are contradictory, but do keep in mind that you don't need to read anything he says, you can always just ignore him in the shoutbox. As for insulting your friends let them decide wheter or not they want to put up with it or not, if not they can also ignore him.

In life you'll always find people that wrong you and that you can't get along with, it's not worth it to keep a grudge agaisnt them just try to move on.

I've always known @Princess Luna to be a rather shady character. I can admit this knowing he knows that small opinion on him. That being said, I don't know much about the guy, and it'll be wrong of me to say an opinion of someone I barely know without judgement.

Now, after reading all of this, I will admit both parties made immature choices. Both parties have a huge part to play in this, and both parties may be considered a "dick" depending on who that person (the judge or friend of the two) is. I, myself, am (and after this post, I very may be was) neutral about this whole situation. However, after reading the OP, I can see where @Woona is coming from. I'd be lying if I said "I haven't dealt with something like this before". I can't explain why certain things bring me or others down, coming off this situation. I can, however, see where @Princess Luna is coming from, due to his annoyed diameter, and shady personality. Due to arguments sake, I will just respond to the OP and go no further.
@Woona, I'll make you the same offer as you did in my thread. If you need someone to talk to, to let off some steam, or to get advice, I'm always here and on Skype. You're an alright friend to me. I'm sorry you're going through this, and I want to help anyway I can, so my door is always open. Hopefully, this thread let out some steam for you, and hopefully, you can move on from this.

The whole thing is ridiculous. It's a name on a forum, it's not like he's stealing your actual identity or you are trying to steal his. Luna can be a dick from time to time, but so can most people. It's a shame that both of you haven't been able to let this go already, but no one can take the brunt of the blame since both are at fault.

I'm going to repeat something, sort of my "main point," if anything else in my thread can be remotely considered "pointed."

I don't care for the name myself, anymore. Another thing I'd like to point out is that if it was all mentality, I shouldn't be bothered by this, as I know it's just a name on an online forum. However, I remain bothered by it, so I decided to make this thread to... I dunno, figure it out, maybe?

to be completely honest this princess luna fellow seems like a bit of a cock, why be mean on a goddamn brony forum...what happened to LOVE and TOLERATE, cant we all just get along! a names just a name to me, i actually was never the 'Real' P0N-3 for the longest time, not until i came here that is. back on FiM.org i was PWN-3 and you know what, im pretty sure i was a much more notorious DJ than P0N ahaha you take what you can get, and MAKE a name for your self, its not just the name, but the actions attributed to it, thats the way i see it!

Yes, yes, I simply don't understand why the name stuff bothers me... However, thanks for the support, it somehow actually helps to get my mind off of it. ^-^;
