I read a few works and articles on it however I find my understanding to be superficial and short lived, being unable to readily apply it in new situations outside of the examples in the text. I know its a core component of Marxist analysis but it has always struck me as having a very odd mystical element to it. Though I have heard that Lenins "Materialism and Empirio-criticism" is meant to be one of the better texts on it, I confess Ive yet to track down a copy.
I apologize for the delay on this; work has kept me quite busy as of late (fair deal of overtime and studying for work-related certifications). Admittedly, I need to revisit the subject myself. I still understand dialectical materialism, but I feel I need to fortify on basic works to put myself in a better position to explain it.

I have been focusing in lighter reading as of late due to my busy schedule; I am reading Gore Vidal's Messiah.

Its alright, I know that feeling all to well. I myself are currently taking a brake with Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment, before I get back into some work by Godwin and Berkman

I just read "Good Omens" for the first time. I know it's a nerd classic, but I just don't dig that brand of humor. The angel and demon parts were good, but I didn't dig the chapters about the kids. At all.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Trying to finish up the series, even though it might take me a million years to finish it.
