this was some good new Canon

Episode felt a lot like Fanon, the whole Rainbow Dash be my sister thing was silly, also Scootaloo totally confirmed for Orphan

I wouldn't be too sure. All that was stated was that she didn't have a sister. Although it is implied that she is an orphan, I think they'll just stay away from that question.
Also, I myself enjoyed this episode, not my favorite episode though. And The Rusty Horseshoe has become the least scary "scary" story I've seen form a cartoon, a record previously held by "The Hash Slinging Slasher".

I think they might leave scootaloo's family / history blank on purpose, this gives them to add in a troubled brother / sister or parent story if ever needed

I'm probably the only one who cares about this at all, but I was really disappointed with Rarity's dialogue for the first half of this episode.

Well she's a bitch so I'm not surprised. Rainbow Dash was always more respectable than her and this episode proved that. Neeyh Neeyh.
