Next to the computer there was a note with "She was ill" on it. based on that note they found the password.

I think I have the answer:

If Amanda is lying when she says " Melinda is his girlfriend", then it can be assumed that Eva is telling the truth. This means that Vanessa is also lying, making Melindas comment "Vanessa is not his sister." true. This means that Vanessa, being a liar and yet not the mans sister, would be his girlfriend.
