Whirl's eyes cracked open. "W-what happened, are we there?" He said with a confused look on his face. He stood up and brushed the dirt off of himself.
"Well, um, how should I say this...we were impeded by a hydra, which I did not expect at all, and you up and fainted. Good thing I got you up, I, uh..honestly was a bit worried."
Blinkie smiled, and helped the poor pony up.
Whim saw that the coast was clear, so he turned and stormed up to Blinkie. "That was a small hydra. I've seen the real thing, and we would not be here if we had run into that. How could you have not known about it? There is probably a bigger one around here that would make its presence quite obvious." Whim was quite upset. In the mine, he should have no real issues, but here on the surface he was nowhere near as comfortable. He had a promise to keep, and it could very well have ended right there.

Blinkie fumed, and stomped her hoof onto the tough ground.
"How was I supposed to know there were hydras out there? Believe me, I had only been through the Everfree once before, and that was in the middle of the day! I thought that they weren't real, okay?"
She sighed, shaking her head.
"Besides, we're out of there now. I doubt they'd come out here in the open, in the early morning. Let's just put it out of our minds and keep moving."
The young earth pony began to trot forward, keeping away from Whim.
Whirl followed Blinkie after giving Whim a sad look. He trotted up next to Blinkie. "Hey, don't let him get to you. He is just concerned for Candi. And... thanks for worrying about me. Not many ponies do." He said as he started to trail back a bit from her.
Blinkie smiled at Wind, giving him a playful punch to the shoulder.
"Hey, us workers gotta stay together."
She looked back at Whim for a second, then back to Wind, lowering her voice to a whisper as they trotted on.
"Honestly..she gets on my nerves. I think she thinks I'm incompetent, not fit to keep us safe. Well, I'll show her, you'll see."
The mare grinned up at the brilliant blue sky.
Whirl smiled. Her confidence gave him a bit of strength. "I will try to be braver so that I can help you prove that." He put a hoof on her back reassuringly.
Blinkie smiled at Wind, and gave him a pat on the back.
"Hey..thanks. Really, thanks. Means a lot."
She then cleared her throat as they neared a door in the ground, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, nowhere being the flatlands of Equestria.
Whim was furious now, but he reigned it in. He did not want to worry Candi anymore than he may have already. His gaze never left Blinkie, as he returned to Candi's side. Only once?! Is she serious?! We are trusting all of our lives to somepony who has been here once." Whim broke his stare at Blinkie, and turned to Candi. His gaze was hard as the mountains of his cutie mark. In a serious tone, betraying nothing but his caring for her, "Stay close by my side, do not wander even a bit until we get to the mine. The closer you are to me, the safer you are, understood?"
