Background: Candy Mane was born in Ponyville in the middle of winter to two pegasus parents. Her father was on the weather control team, he use to tell her he kept the skies clear just so she would smile. Her mother was a snowflake technician, and inspired in her the sense of individuality. Later in life she always looked backed fondly on her parents, and secretly thanked them for making her into the accomplished mare she felt herself to be.
As a young filly Candy Mane never thought of herself as an individual, she dressed the same as the other fillies and tried to fit in as best she could. It wasn’t until they all began to receive their cutie marks that Candy Mane began to feel different, but not in a good way. She was the last in her class to not have a cutie mark, and she was getting quite tired of all the stares the other fillies gave her. It became clear to her she needed to distract them from her flank, so in a fit of genius she cut her mane into a short up style, the likes she had never seen before. The next day at school she proudly walked in, taking her seat and beginning her work as if nothing was different about her. Not a single filly in her classroom commented on her hair, but she happily noticed they didn’t comment on her blank flank either. Soon after this, she began to love her hair short hair; it made her feel like the special snowflake her mother had always believed her to be. She vowed to keep her hair short as a secret reminder to herself of how she could be an individual.
As she grew up the others fillies lost interest in teasing and she found it easier to make friends, regardless of her perpetual blank flank. The friends she did make helped her as best they could, suggesting new hobbies and trying out new activities with her. However when her cutie mark never appeared it became less of a concern for her, and she decided to just enjoy herself! Not having a special talent meant she had more free time than some of her friends, seeing as she had nothing to pursue and practice. She spent many afternoons by herself, reading and occupying herself by helping others whenever she found a pony in need.
This attitude led to strong reputation for Candy Mane as a helpful pony, and she was often pursued by others to lend a helping hoof. Candy Mane was always excited to try anything new, so she seldom shot down a request for help. She had the opportunity to assist in many odd jobs, like helping to repair a house, baking cookies for a rushed order, and even learning the basics of caring for animals. As she grew older Candy Mane had a basic knowledge of many of the other pony’s talents, and prided herself on her helping nature.
Candy Mane was happy with the life she had created, she felt as individualistic as ever, but that could also cause problems for her. She was known for having a strong opinion about herself, and that correlated to her having strong opinions about everything. It took everything in her to not get involved in random conversations she would hear on her way home, she just loved sharing her own thoughts and ideas. Her nosiness was well known, and although Candy Mane knew other ponies didn’t always appreciate it, it was just something she couldn’t help. Now Candy Mane spends most of days helping others where ever she is needed and spending time with her good friends.
Personality: Candy Mane is very helpful and eager to assist in any way needed. She never hesitates to help, and sometimes insists on helping even when others don’t ask for it. Her nosiness can get in her trouble, as she tends to jump into private conversations and go on and on about her personal opinions. It takes a lot of coaxing from other ponies for her to finally shut up and listen, but she loves hearing points of view she doesn’t share. Her knowledge is vast, but she doesn’t know any subject very well past the basics. She is often curious to learn new skills and try new things, so she never sticks with one thing long enough to master it. She can get very excited and passionate over just about anything, and tends to be an excited pony overall.
Cutie Mark: (Be sure to include a story of how the character got their cutie mark, what it means, and how they use it!) Candy Mane struggled with her pursuit of finding her cutie mark. As a young filly she had tried just about everything she could, and even as an adult she dabbled in everything from cooking to architecture seeking her talent. Near her 16th birthday she had given up all hope of ever finding her true talent, and tried to come to grips that she would be a blank flank forever. She was happy helping out where she was needed and found joy in trying new things as well as assisting others. On one particular day Candy Mane started her day in Sugarcube Corner assisting in making a rather large cake for a birthday party. After that she rushed off to the woods to help take a count of all the new baby bunnies that had been born and spent her afternoon foal sitting for a new mother. She moved on from there to a friend’s house to offer advice on what she should wear on hearts and hooves day and rounded out her day timing Pegasus fillies in preparation for a flight test the following week. She returned home tired and accomplished, happily trotting to her bed. As she passed a mirror she glanced into it without really looking, it had become almost a ritual to check her flank before bed, but after so many nights of seeing nothing she hardly glanced anymore. She had passed the mirror and almost reached her bed before it registered to her, she hadn’t seen a blank flank!
She rushed back to the mirror and examined her flank, 4 hot pink bubbles had appeared cascading down her flank. Her brow furrowed as she struggled to figure out what it meant, her bubbly personality? Maybe it was bubblegum? After a few more minutes of examination she trudged off to bed, deciding it was best to ponder on it in the morning.
That night she had a dream that she was moving from task to task lending a hoof and offering advice at every stop. She would float from stop to the next, happy as ever to help out. When she woke up in the morning her cutie marks meaning had become clear, the bubbles represented how she floated around every pony’s talent and they were hot pink just like her hair to remind her she was an individual. She smiled brightly as she jumped up and rushed to mirror, eager to see the bubbles again. Now Candy Mane knows her talent just as well as all the ponies, here talent is to assist other in anything and everything.

Other: (Optional section, add anything else you feel important!) Candy Mane is a background pony who is often displayed without her cutie mark. While I have heard she is seen with pink bubbles as her cutie mark in the Mysterious Mare Do Well episode I was unable to find her anywhere. However I decided to roll with the pink bubbles anyway.
