her coat is a pure white color, with her mane and tail ''striped'' in cyan and deep-blue. She often wears her on-stage glasses, which is blue-purplish. her eyes are crimson red/Magenta(i prefer red...) .
Background:: She's had a normal life growing up, living in Manehattan for most of her life. Her life there was good, as her family belonged to the 'upper' class, just as most musicians there did.
she only had a few really trusted friends when she was younger, and her skill in school was average in most subjects, except her grade in music, as it was slightly over the rest.. her grades in art class was deviating as well, although in the other direction, as she got straight F's or E's in it for the major part of her time in school.
She grew up with her father, a traveling bard that traveled all over Equestria, making him be 'left out' from her life and her mother, a local singer. she missed her dad during his travels, although his absence somehow made their relationship grow even stronger.
She spent a lot of time with her mother, although the two mares often disagreed on a lot of things, getting into arguments and fights, sometimes about the most petty of things.
She wasn't the least popular in school, nor the most popular.. well, until after her cutie mark appeared, that is. her parents were constantly trying to teach her to play 'proper' instruments(see the CM story :3). although she hated most of what she tried, she became talented with the guitar, as well as her Mixboard. her mother taught her how to sing.. although she isn't the most talented singer.. other than in the bathroom.
She moved out from her parents' home a bit after turning nineteen, moving to the town called "Ponyville", not too far away from canterlot. The town was recommended as a nice, quiet town by many of her friends, which is one of the reasons that she moved... (the other being that she couldn't stand her mother's constant nagging.)
She got a couple of jobs playing at various parties and various similar events in the small town, although she occasionally traveled back to Canterlot, both to visit her parents, and to get some extra jobs, barely getting by with food each day.
After a couple of years, however, her luck began to turn. She made a couple of tracks that grew popular, and ended up playing on radio stations all across Equestria. The royalty from the music getting her the money she needs to get by. She mostly produces new music every now and then, and occasionally performs at concerts and the like.
Personality: she's a bit Easy-going, and of course a party mare. she's not quick to anger, but once you got her mad, she's MAD. other than that, she mostly just prefers to 'go with the flow', so to speak.
Cutie Mark: a quaver, or 'eighth note'. aquired at the age of nine.
story:
Due to both her parents being musicians, she got interested in music at a early age. she began playing and trying a lot of different classical instruments, everything from piano to cello to acoustic bass, and pretty much everything in between. Her mother even made her take singing lessons!
...but nothing seemed to really 'work' for her.... well. except for the guitar.
One night, on the way back from a friend's house, she trotted past a club with the backdoor swung wide open.
she heard the bass-heavy music from inside.. and she instantly fell in love with it.
She poked her head inside through the open door to see what was going on in there,and what was making the music.. and saw a stallion standing behind a weird table, with two discs on it, and all kinds of weird instruments and gauges and whatnot on it.
As she stood there, watching in awe, a security guard came and pushed her back out. as she was pushed out, she asked the guard what the stallion had been using.
The guard only responded with grunting out "mrh.. mixtable."
She got home, and went to sleep.
The following week she kept begging her parents for a mixboard, coming up with all kinds of reasons, everything from having a terminal illness that can only be cured by getting one, to running away if she didn't get one.
they were, of course, hestitant, but eventually gave in and got her a simple mixtable.
She got her Table, and immediately began playing and practicing.
She found it much more fun, and much easier, than any of the other instruments her parents made her play.
She practiced and played for weeks, practicing every day.
Eventually heard about her school setting up a yearly talent show. she decided to participate, still a tad unsure about her musical talent.
she kept on practicing, and the big night grew closer... She was scheduled to play last.
The night of the talent show came. most of the ponies were fantastic with what they played, others.. not as good. then, it was her turn. she trotted up on the stage, taking a deep breath as the crowd fell so silent that one could hear a needle drop.
She began playing. the crowd remained silent, listening.. Until about the half-way mark.
Some mumbling could be heard, which soon rose to a loud roar, the crowd ecstatic as she played. As the song ended, the crowd was roaring, loving the little filly on stage. As the crowd cheered, and as Vinyl was bowing for the crowd, feeling unlike she's ever felt before, something could be seen flashing a little on stage...
Her cutie mark. although nopony really noticed it untill after the show, for obvious reasons.
it represents her skill in music. although mainly she's using electrical instruments, such as mixtables or mixboards. she is moderately skilled with guitars, both electrical acoustic. she's a decent singer, from her mother teaching her and forcing her into taking singing lessons.
