Background:
Coder is stallion Pegasus born in the city of Manehattan from two earth pony. His mother was a stay at home wife and his father was a carpenter whose job was paying enough to support his family. Coder demonstrated an early interest for everything that was about manual work and would often sneak in his father's workshop to ''borrow'' some tools so he could build random things (read here mainly destroying things around the house). When he got older, his dad would bring Coder in his workshop to teach him carpentry the same way his own father taught him. Years passed and Coder became better and better until he decided to go work for a construction company in the town. He worked there for a few years but quit when he was a stallion to go and explore new areas. With his saving money, he went on a journey, town after town.
He went to the town of Baltimare to meet some of his cousins he had not seen in years. He got an offer to work for a few weeks in the Horseshoe Bay harbor to help repair boats. He had never worked with boats before and he gladly accepted because it was a very good learning opportunity. He soon discovered that not everypony were as hard working as him and he started to feel like many were abusing of him to get the hard jobs done. He quited after only a week and left the town with a bitter taste. He went to Dodge Junction where a recent storm had left some buildings damaged. He offered his help to rebuild and the town folks gladly accepte. He found out these ponies were hard workers and he made a lot of friends over there. But his desire for traveling was still present after a goodbye party, he went back on the road towards Canterlot. He had no specific goal to visit Canterlot other than seeing the biggest and most important town of Equestria. No need to say he kinda disapointed by the snob attitudes of most of the inhabitants.
After leaving Canterlot, he went ahead to the little town named Ponyville to enjoy a break from big cities.

Coder got his cutie mark when he was 12 years old when he made a wooden sculpture representing his 2 parents. It is as of now still his best piece of art, it took him weeks to make and was inspired by the love and respect he has for his parents.
