[OC] Bad Code

(Note: This is my first submitted OC, not sure if it will be accepted at all, but here it is either way.)

Background: Bad code has lived an average life almost forever. He grew up in Manehattan in the 90's and always had an interest in computers, often taking place in active online gaming events as young as 9 years old. He took a interest in learning just how computer programs we're made and learned the general aspect of coding when he was about 10 years old, despite not understanding it very well. He tried to learn as much as he could about codes but would usually be distracted by oncoming school work and being more interested in the games themselves rather then how they are made. Still he tried to learn as much as he could and by the time he was twelve years old he had finally fully understand how to communicate fluently in binary leading to his cutie mark, a small incomplete string of binary. However, since then he has struggled to learn much else about about the world of coding and although getting good grades all throughout school and going to college he still has taken much more of an interest in coding, determined to someday master the art of the hack leading him too move to Ponyville and remain there as he continues to understand coding, but usually lives a general normal lifestyle in Ponyville making decent bits and always trying to up his gaming setup as he goes about his routines every day.

Cutie Mark: A small bit of binary(which actually makes no sense as it is too short to be even a single letter) representing the moment he grasped the way numbers and letters worked together in binary, however the strand being messed up and meaningless has always confused him and despite not wanting too, sometimes he can't help but fear that it could be meaning he was destined to fail. but even with this he continues to attempt to fulfill his 'destiny' that he hopes his cutie mark is predicting.

Thank you for your submission. We apologize for the time it took for us to comment on your character. Unfortunately it needs a bit of work before we can accept it.

To start with, when you write that "He grew up in Manehattan in the 90's", what exactly do you mean? As far as we know there was no "90's" in Equestria, and even if it was it would have been different. We would be thankful if you could explain this to us.

You mention that he took part in online gaming events, which unfortunately isn't very fitting to what we have seen from the show itself. At the very best we have seen technology similar to the Nintendo 64, and that's only for gaming. We have not really seen any hints of personal computers, much less the Internet or any of its predecessors. Unfortunately this is also a bit of a detriment for your character, which appears to be rather heavily based on programming and computers.

We are a bit confused of what you mean with his reading and understanding of code. Are you suggesting that he is able to read the binary of a program? And why would he know that, exactly? Knowing ASCII ( or rather, it's Equestrian equivalent ) would be more understandable, but still seem a bit unusual for someone who is not a professional programmer by his age.

As far as we can tell there is no College in Equestria, but rather that the foals go for training in whatever field their talents belong to. You would need to remove this from your background.

What exactly is Bad Code working with? You mention that he makes a few bits, but on what exactly? It would be very good to know this for the Roleplay you would get into. It is unlikely that he could work professionally with any type of programming from Ponyville, unfortunately.

Lastly, about his cutiemark. You mention that it is not even enough for a single letter ( So less then eight symbols? ) and because of this believes himself to set up for failure. The cutiemarks symbol a pony's talent and abilities, so unless he feel that his talent is to fail in programming it would seem strange that he would lose sleep over this detail.

We would like to see a bit about him as a him as an individual as well, so we would like you to add a personality-section as well.

In closing.
While we are very happy you are interested in RP'ing here on Equestria Forever this character may not possible to properly convert. While we could certainly help you convert Bad Code into a passing character it most likely would rip out what you actually wanted him to be. I would honestly suggest making another character on a more 'primitive' level, such as a watchmaker or architect.
