Whim immediately blurted out, Quartz, that is my absolute favorite of all time. It can be found almost anywhere and it comes in so many interesting colors and shades and packages. I used to go geode hunting with my earth perception. I can feel changes in density, so I felt rocks within the earth and looked for conditions that would spawn geodes, or abnormal density spikes around certain rocks. I've only ever found two though," Whim chuckled. "It was a fun game, though." His expression brightened at the talk of his adventures. He always loved to go out and do things like that.

Candi hopped through town humming to herself as she went. She was particularly happy, just coming from a doctors visit. Her pregnancy was on track and all signs were good. Her heart fluttered as she thought more about the foal, Whim will be so excited to hear the news!!! Her happy thoughts swirled around her head and she began to bounce quicker down the road, eager to find Whim.
Suddenly she stopped, nearly falling forward. Whim was sitting at a restaurant with some other ponies, and Candi quickly changed course moving towards him.
"Whim!! "
-
Blinkie giggled at his eager answer, and nodded in agreement.
"Quartz is definitely something special, but I just love jade."
Her eyes lit up, and she grinned widely.
"Just..something about it. Most ponies find it 'too dull' and 'not shiny enough' and they don't pay any mind to it. But, something..something in that dull glow of green..I just don't know..."
-
"Well, jade is a fine gem indeed! It may be a bit duller in the color and shine departments, but when it comes to shaping and making things with it, jade is unsurpassed..." Whim was about to continue when he heard his name called out. He turned and saw Candi bouncing toward him. "Excuse me, Blinkie and Whirl," he said, jumping up from where he was sitting.
He ran straight to the mare and gave her a hug. "Hi Candi! How is everything going with you and Lush?" He was so excited to see her bouncing around, he could barely contain himself.
-
Candi melted into his hug and sighed against his neck. After a moment she pulled back smiling happily at him. "She is great, everything is on track! She has been kicking up a storm, someone is getting impatient!" She sat down and wrapped her forelegs around her stomach, smiling up at Whim. Her thoughts circled around Whim and Lush, it took her a few moments to realize Whim had been with company. She looked past him to Whirl and Blinkie, "Who are they darling?" She asked quietly so as not to be rude, looking from the others back to Whim.
-
Whim's smile dropped, in his haste and carelessness, he had just about rushed off on a potentially dangerous adventure without telling Candi. "Oh... well... I kind of... sort of... signed up for a little trip... into the ground... very soon... as in possibly today," Whim looked down at his hooves. "I'm sorry, I should have asked if it was alright first... "
-
Candis full attention snapped to Whim, "You...you were going to leave Lush and I?!" Her eyes grew wide and tears began to pool and sadness reflected in them. "What was going to happen? You would just be gone....?" She looked down at her stomach and began to rub slow small circles, feeling her foal kick. She figured Lush must be responding to her increased heart rate.
-
Whim looked up at her, the tears welling up in her eyes broke his heart. He looked away, trying his best not to start crying as well. "I... I didn't mean..." He turned back to her. "I should not have done that, I will ask for a refund and come straight home. I made a very foolish decision on a passing fancy..."
He turned and looked back at Blinkie and Whirl, sitting at the table. "The prospect of going into the ground, seeing and feeling the earth all around me... being able to fully utalize my magic as I can't here on the surface... It distracted me from what is important," he turned to face Candi, reaching up to wipe her tears away. "I'm not going anywhere, I promise."
-
Candi leaned towards Whim, she could tell how badly he wanted to go on this little adventure of his. It was unfair for her to take that away from him after all he had done for her and Lush.
"O darling, it's obvious you want to go..." She rose and stepped closer to him, placing her forehead against his. "Im just not letting you go alone, how much does it cost?" She took a step back and smiled at him, a few tears still cling to her eyelashes, and a small part of her was still wounded by the thought that he may have left her if she hadn't interceded.
-
Whim looked down at his hooves as she started to speak, fearing some form of rebuttle or anger. When she finished her question eyes shot up to meet hers, desperately seeking if she was serious. She seemed sincere, "I... It does not apply to you, I will cover it... Are you sure...?" Whim was quite hesitant, not knowing exactly what to expect. He also wasn't sure if it would be ok for a pregnant mare to go into a mine. The last thing in the world that he wanted was to hurt Candi or Lush. That would absolutely destroy him if his actions hurt them in any way. "Maybe we should talk to Blinkie a little before you sign up... I don't want anything to happen to either of you." His gaze narrowed, looking first into Candi's eyes then travelling down to Lush. He put a hoof on her belly and felt Lush kicking. They're safety comes first.
