"Oh? You do, where?" She asked, looking around the room. "Practicing a bit may waste time until a few things."
"Hold on!" Charlie disappeared into the room again and came out a moment later with the complete drum set on a rolling platform. "The drum sticks are in the side pocket on the base."
Ferrarity went to her room and got some chocolate instead, thinking coffee might not be the best thing for a speed pony. She makes her way out of her room then notices Silver backing out of a room that made her raise a brow in curiosity. "Is something wrong, Sil?" Her head perked up in a bit of surprise at a crash like sound, then peering into the room and seeing Blackwing having overturned just about his whole room upside down making her raise a brow in slight worry as she trots inside the room and reaches out to Blackwing's shoulder. "Blackwing, are you alright?"
Red trotted over to the drum set and looked it over. "You got a stool or something? I can't play these whil standing."
Charlie laughed, "Its in the room to your left!" Charlie ist off her piano seat and sat down ready to play. She placed her hooves on the home keys and counted the tempo she needed.
Blackwing cranes his hear slowly, turning around to face his red friend. "Does it LOOK like im alright? Because turning EVERYTHING upside down is the new style! So is not having a BRAIN apparently!" He said with surprising harshness. He saw Silver sloooooowly inching his way back out of the room. He let the nightstand he had tilted to the side fall with a loud thud. The green speck in the middle of his eyes grew, not overwhelmingly large though. "I CANT FIND IT! WHERE THE HELL IS IT!" He called in desperation, the tone of his voice changing slightly. "Silver!" He said. Shouting the name almost sounded painful.
Silver started shaking a bit, hearing Blackie's changed tone, as something inside of him realized that that blue vial might have been more important than he thought. But he couldn't run... just, the way Black Wing called for him like that, he must not know that Silver really caused it. Still anxious, and shaking from not knowing the full circumstances of his actions, the spoke, "Y-yes Blackie? Y-you alright?"
Red proceeded to pull the stool out from the mentioned area, and sit down. Rapping on a cymbal to test everything was in order, she then began a short, rapid drum solo. "Oh yeah, this'll do"
Charlie smiled and focused on her playing, first she started with the typical warm up but after hearing the beat of the drums she started to follow soon making her own piece. "Wait, play that last beat again." Charlie told Red and after Red repeated the beat, Charlie matched the temp and soon had a song again.
Ferrarity blinked a few times at Blackwing's response then decided to set the stand back upright then gave Blackwing a confused look. "Where's, what Blackie? I can help if you tell me, but try to lower your voice, I think you're scaring Silver." She could notice the bit of color change in his eye, but didn't want to say anything about it yet thought it did worry her to see her friend acting so, different.
He narrowed his eyes at his friend, "No." He said, walking over to stand in front of his friend. "Do I look ALRIGHT?" Blackwing said as he stared into his friends eyes, a slow, malicious smile spreading across his face until he was grinning from ear to ear. He started to laugh, calmly at first, but slowly escalating into a hysterical laughter. "DO I LOOK BUCKING ALRIGHT! DO I SILVER!" He yelled, still inches from his nervous, stammering friend.
He turned from Silver, exaggerating his steps as he walked around the room, giving them a type of care-free feel to them. "A small, glass vial is all. Filled with an opaque blue liquid, black stopper, no bigger then a quill." He said, still walking lazily around the room. He stopped suddenly, turning to Ferrarity. "And this is a very IMPORTANT vial. you could say that LIVES depend on it, not mine, of course. So I kind of REALLY need to find the damn thing, alright? You havent happened to have seen it, have you?"
"OR YOU?" He said, turning to Silver, staring at him once again.
Ferrarity shook her head after hearing the item he was looking for. "No, I haven't seen it Blackie. But really calm down, please." She puts a hoof on his back and rubs a little. "You're scaring the daylights out of Silver and making a mess of your room! I'll help you search, but I need you to be calm, ok friend?" She smiles sincerely and tilts her head a bit with a small giggle.
"What, this once?" Red asked, beginning the drum solo she just played from the very beginning, but instead if stopping she continue on playing it.
"You WHAT Silver?" He asked as he continued to look around his room. "Something you think I should know? Something important? Because it would beVERY much appreciated if you were to tell me if you know something, Celestia-forbid you do." He flashed a quick smile at his friend, but there was a total lack of happiness in his face and tone.
"Calm down? CALM DOWN!?! Who said I wasent calm? And I dont believe, Mrs. "Race pony," that this is a time to be GIGGLING at anything, though I AM aware that I can be quite humorous at times, now is not one of those times! Keep it up and you will be Giggling WITH the Ghosties." He said, the insane smile returning to his face. "Oh, im scaring Silver, am I? I have NO idea why on earth he would be scared of his best friend. I havent even hurt him yet."
Ferrarity was a bit unhappy with Blackwing's tone but didn't show it, she just tried to calm him down and kept smiling. "Hehe, nice pun Blackie, I remember somepony talking about laughing your troubles away and it does work! Not my intention, but you should try it with me, come on!" She laughed a bit to try and infect Blackwing with her cheerfulness hoping it would get him to relax a bit. "You too Silver, help me out here!"
Charlie nodded and followed along, "Huh.. I've never done a piece with drums before! I need to get my sheet music from my dorm want to walk with me?" Charlie stood from the bench and waited for Red.
Silver, cowering on the floor, tried to open his mouth to say SOMETHING, ANYTHING, but nothing could come up but a pathetic, "meeeeep," as he looked quickly between Ferr and his crazed friend, then buried his face in his hooves.
Blackwing stood there, watching the two ponies with a close eye. Silver was acting very strange, given the circumstances. "What the hell is YOUR problem? You look like you've seen a ghost! Or watched someone be murdered in the worst possible way. Take your pick." He said coldly, not finding his little "meep" as cute or endearing. He turned to Ferrarity, who had been trying to make him feel better. "You can help me look, if you wish. But if your going to stand there and tell me to smile. uscire" He said, narrowing his eyes at his friend very slowly.
(I fixed it)
"I don't know what that means, but you really do need to lighten up! Silver is scared to death of you obviously, why I don't know but can you try to be cool and calm? You're acting as if this is a matter of life and death here, despite your puns." She helps search around the room while also cleaning the places up and putting things back the way they should be. "Honestly now Blackie, you don't need to trash your room for some small vial. Is it really worth scaring Silver, turning your room upside down and making some bad puns?"
"We'll be right back Fire!" Charlie left through the door and out into the open air of the campus. Her and Red walked along the concrete path till they reached the Dorms. "I think it on a top box I believe I really should unpack.." Charlie entered her dorm leaving the door open and pushed out a box with the word music written on the side.
"Okay, that's fine! See you in a bit!" Firecracker calls at them from her seat. She had taken to just listening to the two of them after realizing that her skills as a classical musician probably wouldn't mesh well with her roommate and the other mare. However, she gets curious when Charlie and Red leave and heads to the main office of the music building. "Can I help you?" The receptionist asks. "Hello" Firecracker answers with a friendly smile, "I was wondering if you received a package for a Firecracker." The receptionist thinks to herself for a moment, "Package, package... Yes, I think we received something earlier today. I'll go check on it and be right back."
Firecracker waits impatiently as the receptionist ducks back into a side room and returns with a long oddly shaped package that makes Firecracker's eyes light up. "It came just this morning. Just let me see your ID to confirm and it's all yours" the receptionist says. Firecracker shows her ID and takes the package with a happy "Thank you sooo much!" to the receptionist as she trots back down the hall to the practice room.
As soon as she enters the practice room, she starts tearing into the package removing a guitar case, a box of strings, a footstool, several binders of sheet music, a glove, and a notebook. As she opens the guitar case, she notices the note on the inside of the lid that says "From Starburst". For a moment she fondly remembers the day when her mentor had presented her with the instrument as a sign that their friendship extended beyond the bond between student and teacher. Firecracker had also kept her habit of taking everything her mentor ever gave her and made it her own while keeping the original soul intact. Reaching inside the case, she pulls out the glossy classical guitar with a single cutaway and the only hint of what she did to make it unique being the circular hole in the side of the body.
Frowning, she gently wipes some dust off of the instrument before unfolding her footstool and tuning the guitar. Next she slips her front right hoof into the glove which has soft plastic pieces on the end to help pick individual strings. Taking a deep breath, she plays the first note of a piece letting it ring out and fingering the next note with her front left hoof. She holds it and fingers the next few with the aid of her magic pressing the strings to the frets, taking careful note of the tone and volume of each individual note. She feels herself getting into a flow as she plays the piece with no two concurrent notes being played the same way, always moving her music letting it move herself. Finally after what seems like forever, Firecracker finishes the piece. Pausing for a moment and taking a deep breath, she looks at the clock and notices that barely three minutes have passed. Smiling and laughing to herself for a moment, she begins again with another piece and another as she waits for Charlie and Red.
Red just stood at the doorframe, waiting patiently for Charlie to gather her stuff. "Hmmmmmm..." she mumbled to herself, tapping her hoof against her chin.
Charlie grabbed her music that was several binders high. "Ok let's go back," she balanced the binders on her head as she closed the door to her room. They walked down the hall passing her new friends, "Hello Silver, Ferrarity and Blackie." she didn't argue the massive argument. Her and Red left the building and moments later arrived at the MD again. Charlie kept the books balanced on her head as she entered the practice room. "Wow Fire, that sounds great!" Charlie took her books off and took out a few sheets of paper to start writing.
Arpi, having overheard the noise coming from Blackwing's room, made his way inside, glancing around. "...Um... what's going on here, exactly? I could hear the noise from down the hall." He glanced down at Silver on the floor, giggling a little as he guessed that the cute 'meep' he'd heard came from him.
"Aww, thanks for the compliment." Firecracker says to Charlie. "I've played since I was pretty young but it's just for fun. Anyway I think I'm going to step out and look around the area for a little bit."
"Oh ok then, I'm gonna write a few classical pieces then I'll meet up with ya!' Charlie placed the sheets on the stand and began to play a few notes. She would grabbed her pencil behind her ear write a few notes on the paper then put it back.
Red gave a slight "Bleh" sound. "Classical Music, I really do NOT like that." Red groaned. "Too... Boring." she added, before trotting back over to the drum set.
Firecracker raises an eyebrow at Red's comment but then smiles understandingly. "See you guys later" she says as she steps out the door. Once outside, Firecracker heads for a bulletin board in the middle of a nearby sidewalk and begins scanning it for something. Reaching for a particular poster, she smiles and rips off a contact slip and takes off for the dorm at a brisk trot.
As she cleaned up around Blackwing's room, she stopped for a moment hearing Arp and looked at him giving him a little wave. "Hey Arp! Blackie is freaking out over a small vial of some kind, which is scaring the hay out of Silver, though that sound he made was cute and funny." She points to the grey pegasus cringing on the ground, giggling a bit at her last words. "I'm trying to help him find it so he'll hopefully calm down! He's acting a little *coo coo whistles* right now, and making some bad puns. Can you help me out here?"
"Thanks fianchi caldi! It's quite the mess in here so watch yourself, luckily he didn't break the chemical vials or that would've been dangerous. She looks through the set of vials not finding anything that matched the description, only finding an empty holster. "Nothing here but and empty holster." She put it back and thought about where else to look. She got an idea and looked in the trash can thinking maybe he threw it away by accident. Looking inside, she find some shattered glass and no sign of the liquid. "Well, I dunno if that was it, but there's some broken glass in the trash."
"Huh... maybe that explosion made some things break. Would make sense, no?" Arpi nodded a bit, smiling at Ferr at the nickname. "Either way, I'm not seeing much of anything else around here."
Charlie waved a goodbye to Firecracker then turned to Red, "The you would like most of my music." she giggled. "But it's not just classical I'm writing, let me get my turn table and I'll show you real music."
Silver finally got himself together and somewhat under control from the onslaught of fear. He stood up, however shakily, and stammered, "U-um.... what does this, v-vial, do anyways? E-especially that would make you, B-Blackie, freak out about it?"
Ferrarity shrugged as her search turned up nothing. "I got nothing either. And I'm also curious about why Blackie is flipping out over it, what's so important about it that you'd turn your room upside down friend? You're acting very strange." She was still slightly worried for Blackwing, his personality not being like it was.
"[COLOR="#006400"]That vial, Silverwing," He said, calling his friend by his full name, which he rarely, if not ever, did. "Is filled with a VERY CRUCIAL liquid, and going through withdraws is something that is highly ill-advised. Celestia only knows what will happen if I dont get any. Im sure in time you will get the point." The long, insane smile spread across his face briefly. "IF I dont get that vial, BAD things are going to happen. Not to me of course, im at no risk to hurt myself. Or... So I think."
Silver's face contorted for a slight bit before resting in more of a caring frown, "Black Wing," he said sternly, using his friend's full name as well, "it sounds more like you have a problem with this, 'chemical,' than that you truly need it." Silver paused in sort of a disappointment, feeling more solid after that breaking down since he thought he had figured it out. "We need to get you some serious help if that's the case."
