i consider this one of the easier one, all you gotta do is find a way so that the question has the same answer no matter what troll u ask it to. once u realise that it should only take 10-15 minutes of thinking max :\
anyway no new riddle for today as i won't be home in the afternoon and probably will be in a too bad mood to answer properly (barbertime )
riddle 43:
you have 2 hourglasses, if you have one 4-minute timer and one 7-minute timer, how can you measure 9 minutes?
Start by turning both hourglasses over until the 4 minute one runs right through, giving you 4 minutes measured, the 7 minute hourglass still has 3 minutes worth of sand in the top. Turn both hourglasses over again, and measure out those 3 minutes, bringing you up to 7 minutes measured. This leaves 1 minute unmeasured in the 4 minute hourglass. Turn both hourglasses over again and measure out the final 1 minute in the 4 minute hourglass, bringing the total to 8, then turn the 7 minute hourglass over one last time, and let the minute that was measured before run back through, giving you 9 minutes total.
TL;DR:
x/y where x is the top of the hourglass, y is the bottom
Step 1: 4/0 7/0 let them run for 4 minutes - 0/4 3/4 Total time: 4 mins
Step 2: 0/4 3/4 turn four minute over - 4/0 3/4, then let 7 minute run out 1/3 0/7 total time: 7 mins
Step 3: 1/3 0/7 Turn 7 minute over - 1/3 7/0, then let 4 minute run out 0/4 6/1 Total time: 8 mins
Step 4: 0/4 6/1 Turn 7 minute over - 0/4 1/6, the let 7 minute run out 0/4 0/7 Total time: 9 mins
I don't time the record, I prefer it really if people have to think about it really  that way i'm sure i'm wasting people their time :cheeri: anyway lemme edit this with a new one
