darnit! :grumpy:
riddle 38:
In a far awayland it was known that if you drank poison, the only way to survive is to drink a stronger poison.
It would neutralize the weaker poison you see. The king who ruled the land wanted to make sure he had the strongest poison,
to ensure his survival. The king called the kingdom's pharmacist and the kingdom's treasurer. they each got a week to make the strongest poison.
Each would drink each others poison, then their own. the one that survived would have made the strongest poison.
The pharmacist went straigth to work while the treasurer cried as the pharmacist had way more experience in this field and he would surely die.
After hours of crying he got a plan to ensure he lived, the last day the pharmacist realised that the treasurer had no chanche and therefor would set up a trap/trick.
After a little thought the pharmacist realised what the plan was so he thought of a counterplan.
When the time came, the king summoned them both. they drank the poisons and the treasurer died, the pharmacist lived and the king still didn't get what he wanted.
thanks for @Colgate i forgot to say knigths are guarding them so else they flee
What exactly happened here?
oh my i pulled one of the few i couldn't solve myself out of the hat, let's see if you people can do it :cellyha:
The pharmacist created an antidote rather than a poison. He survived because it was an antidote to the poison that the treasurer made, but the king didn't get what he wanted because any other poison might still kill him.
The treasure keeper thought he was being smart by giving the pharmacist a very weak potion, so that when the pharmacist would take his very strong one, it would overpower the weak one, neutralize it, and still have the poison affect on it, which would kill the pharmacist.
The pharmacist however realized he would do this, so he just made a slightly stronger poison which was also an antidote for every poison apart from his.
Ending: The pharmacist drinks and doesn't die, the Treasure guy does die.
Very, very complex.... O.O
The treasurer switched one of the pharmasists poison with water. P: 1 poison 1water. T: 2 waters. So when it came time to drink the poison they both drank a water, when it came time to drink each others the pharm. gave him pioson.
But not to prevent stealing :dwi:
The Treasure keeper stole the recipe of the poison of the pharmacist and the pharmacist after thinking knew he would do that, so he prevented that from happening or let him get the wrong recipe?
