Dino was swept out as well, yelling as he is moved into a large room, hitting the floor. His fez landed beside him, and he reached over and put it on. "While that worked, it certainly wasn't pleasant..." Dino smiled again. "Where are we now though?"
"Hey Pwny! This is Time Turner. I'm not sure if he is an illusion or not, but he seems friendly enough." Trinket turned his attention to 'Time Turner', smiling. "I'm Trinket Finder, pleased to meet you. Now if you don't mind, we need to find the rest of our team."
"Pleasure to meet you Time Turner. If Trinket says you're friendly then that's good enough for me." Looking around the room, Pwny realized that it was actually rather quiet in here. Most of the other rooms he had been through involved some form of traps or trickery. It was amazing he hadn't noticed the silence earlier. "Have you run into much trouble in the temple, Trinket? I've been running into all manner of strange things. It almost makes the calmness of this room seem unsettling."
Dino chuckled again. "That is to be expected." Dino looked around he room some more. "There has to be a way out..."
Trinket stopped for a moment when Pwny asked him about the temple. "Well... I hadn't really thought about it until now, but no. The only thing is that every route seems to be a dead end. It's like the temple is trying to lead us in a certain direction..." He walked over and tapped the nearest wall. Suddenly a grinding noise occurred, and a small opening appeared in the wall, from which several rather large spiders emerged. "Um... does this count as weird? Big spiders and a hole in a wall? Maybe there's a switch or something inside?"
Pwny cringed very noticeably, and started shivering as the spiders crawled out from the hole that had opened in the wall. "Why is it always spiders?" Though large, the spiders didn't appear hostile. "If there's a switch or something in there then hurry and check. I'm not...I don't wanna go in there."
"Sure, I don't see how it could cause any problems..." Trinket responded, clearly not believing what he just said. He gingerly put his hoof into the hole, and felt around, his face cringing in a cross between fear, disgust and vague excitement. Eventually he found a button, and pushed it.
Some loud crunching sounds were heard inside the walls, and then the room started slowly revolving. It quickly built up speed, before spinning around at full speed. Trinket grabbed hold of the nearest solid object as quickly as he could.
Pwny flew up to stop himself from spinning. "Well this is no good. How do we stop a revolving room?" Looking around, everything was spinning so fast now it was hard to tell what to look for. Hitting the switch again probably wasn't an option. Trying to find another way to stop the room might be possible, if they could stop from getting dizzy.
((Sorry, probably should have mentioned I work 22 hours over the weekend. :rainderp: ))
Turner grabbed hold of the nearest thing he could before cursing himself getting lost in thought. He took a moment to look around at the ever spinning room, and failed to notice anything.
"Well, if no other options seem possible, might as well go with the one most obvious," he murmured to himself. He looked over at his companions and smiled, "Whelp, it was a pleasure meeting you two!"
Time Turner then jumped at the wall. As he connected with the spinning death trap he suddenly vanished with a bright flash of light.
Pwny looked away as the bright flash lit up, then as it dissipated Pwny looked back towards Time Turner to see he was gone. "Wait, what just happened? He was here and now...well I guess that makes about as much sense as anything else in this place. I guess he really was an illusion. Trinket, are you holding up okay? Any ideas on how to stop the room from spinning?""
Trinket, in a dizzy haze, flew up next to Pwny, "Hey... where'd Time Turner go...?" He just about managed to ask. Being spun repeatedly was not fun for Trinket, and he was having trouble seeing straight.
He shook his head to try and clear his mind, and started to think. "The switch is a no go, but the centre of the ceiling is revolving the slowest, so I think if we...." He flew up to the centre of the ceiling, and kicked it as hard as he could. A chunk of stone, large enough for a pony to fit through, fell down.
At the very top of the Temple of Chaos lies an observatory overlooking the surrounding area. Save for a few books, a very large telescope and a rickety old chair, the room has nothing within it. ...including a door. Suddenly, a burst of light appears in the room for a second to only disappear a moment later as Time Turner lands with a thud on the ground.
"Oi...," he groaned, "not one of my best laid plans but leave it to Discord to actually build a room that functions as a vortex portal." He shook the dust from his mane.
"Now, let's see where I am. Clearly it is some sort of observatory with no doors (go figure on that one.) The telescope seems functional enough but I am not in the mood to do some star gazing. I best get out of here and regroup with the others."
He strolled over to the telescope and focused its lens towards the camp. Perhaps I can see if they have returned yet and try to signal them to come fetch me. he thought. But as he zoomed in towards the area where the camp was he found nothing.
"What!?!" he stammered, "did they leave without me? -Wait, no. By the looks of it they have never set up camp..."
Time Turner focused the lens more finely, "and none of those plants look like they should. As if they are from another-"
A large pterodactyl suddenly flew past the telescope.
"...time." Time Turner gulped.
Lamare went wide eyed as her pupils grew and shimmered. "Bubbles!" The room was filled with all kind of colored, transparent bubbles, ones of all kinds of sizes and shapes, mostly some pretty big ones. She ran over and jumped on one and she bounced off it like a trampoline. "Weee! Now this is the most funnest room of all! I'd like to have a room like this!"
"That works for me." Pwny flew up and poked his head through the hole in the ceiling. This room wasn't spinning, and it seemed quiet enough for now. "Everything looks okay in here Trinket. Let's move and try to find the others." Pwny sat down, trying to clear his head after all the spinning. This place gets stranger and stranger. I'm starting to wonder how we're going to get out. Would we even be able to find our way out if we just went back the way we came?
"A few more kicks should do the trick...," Time Turner grumbled to himself as he bucked hard once again at the base of the telescope. He did his best to ignore the ever growing hole that the pterodactyl had managed to peck in the ceiling.
"COME ON," He shouted as he gave one final kick. He shouted with glee as a loud crack was heard. The great telescope came crashing to floor creating a hole into the room below. Bubbles flew out in droves as the ground below the Time Turner's feet began to crumble away. He let out a quite yelp as he fell right into the direction of a pegasus.
"I am not exactly sure," Turner grunted, "probably more madness stirred up by this place." ((Or a silly rper! :rainderp: Ha, irony!))
He rolled off the pegasus.
"Thanks for the 'catch.' I am the doc- I'm 'Time Turner.' Who are you?'" Turner asked with a forced grin.
Turner looked up.
"And that fellow up there looks eager to join us," he jibbed pointing up to the observatory. The pterodactyl had managed to force in most of its head.
Turner laughed, "I don't suppose anyone speaks dinosaur?'
Dino stepped forward from the darkness where he had been standing. "I wish I did, but alas, dinosaur is only in my name." Dino put back on his fez. "I'm Dinosaur Otto-Kirk. As you have already introduced yourself to the others, I know you're Doctor Whooves." Dino smiled.
The Doctor panicked a little. "What? What do you mean? My name is 'Time Turner!'" He quickly quipped back with a pitiful chuckle. He coughed and fixed his tie, "now Dinosaur Otto-Kirk is a name I recognize! Aren't you an archeologist? That would certainly explain all of the ponies I've been bumping into..."
Wandering about, Pwny looked around for a sign of anyone he recognized. "I don't see anyone around. I think I got separated from Trinket again too. TRINKET! YOU THERE?" No answer. As he walked, Pwny noticed he was actually walking towards himself. Hmm. Must be a mirror. As he got close, there didn't appear to be any glass. Reaching out a hoof, Pwny touched the other Pwny, and it certainly didn't feel like a mirror. There appeared to be a mirror version of Pwny right in front of him, mimicking his every action. "Um...hello? Are you real, or possibly even sentient? Could I pass by?" The mirror image simply mimicked his voice and movements as he performed them.
Dino looked embarrassed, he most have mistaken Time Turner for another pony. "I apologize Time Turner, I must have misheard. My reputation must precede me, yes, I'm an archeologist. And yes, that's why you're numbing into all these ponies." Dino looked more serious. "Have you seen others then?"
Lamare kept bouncing around on the bubbles, her vision catching the dinosaur as she flipped in the air. "Hey a dragon! But that's the ugliest dragon I ever saw, its head is all weird!"She bounces across then up to the ceiling and boops it on what's supposedly it's nose. "Boooop." She falls back down and bounces around like a pinball. "This place is like a funhouse!"
Still trying to get past the mirror version of himself, Pwny only kept getting in his own way as he/it mimicked his every action. I can't just go back the way I came. No point in that. But I can't go forward when this thing blocks my every action. This room is just like a mirror. Pwny looked around, and walked up to the wall on his side. The mirror Pwny did the same. Pwny gave the wall a buck and the mirror Pwny did the same. The stone walls held up to Pwny's kick, but the walls behind mirror Pwny began to crack and shatter like glass. A few more bucks and it began to shatter. Turning around, the wall in front of Pwny still looked solid. Walking towards it, he was able to walk through it as if the hole was there. Pwny found himself in a room with he other ponies. Looking up there was a large dinosaur frantically snapping at Lamare, who was bouncing from bubble to bubble."She's up to her usual tricks. And look, it's the illusion pony too!" Pwny walked up to Time Turner and gave him another few pokes. "So what's everyone up to?"
